The International Filmfestival Mountainfilm Graz was founded in 1986 by the mountaineer and film-maker Robert Schauer. Starting as a gathering of professional producers and alpinists, it then expanded to an annual event that attracts a broader audience. Every year a diversified programme is composed out of submissions from over 30 countries. In the festival’s international competition, a jury awards the “Alpine Camera in Gold” in five categories and the “Grand Prix Graz” for the best production.
