Another splendid October beckons - when the scenic Tegernsee Valley with its lake and mountains will host the 15th Tegernsee International Mountain Film Festival. The festival is designed as a competition and annually receives film submissions from around the globe. An international jury determines the winning films. In recent years, the festival has attracted up to 6,000 viewers to its screening venues.

This year, the German Alpine Club (Deutscher Alpenverein/DAV) celebrates its 150th anniversary. It boasts a record high of more than 1.3 million members and plans numerous special events – including a mountain film roadshow! This goes to demonstrate the widespread appeal of the mountains and the crucial role of mountain films in promoting them to a greater public.
Since 2003 the partnership between the Tegernsee Mountain Film Festival and the German Alpine Club has been a significant contributor to our event’s success; appreciation is mirrored back to us by our visitors as much as by you, the film makers from around the globe.
Whether your film focuses on mountain sports and alpinism, landscape and environmentor the mountain worlds’ cultures, our international festival jury will handle the competition with the greatest amount of expertise.
We would like to invite you today to submit your most recent “mountain” productions to the 17th Tegernsee International Mountain Film Festival.SUBMISSION FORM
