The Mountain Cinematheque is an association whose mission is to collect, safeguard and promote all the films shot in mountain areas since the invention of cinema. It has digitized more than 10,000 films, 2,600 of which are available on its website. The greatest mountaineers and directors have deposited their films at the Cinémathèque: Lionel TERRAY, René DESMAISON, Gaston REBUFFAT, Catherine DESTIVELLE, Patrick EDLINGER, Lionel DAUDET ...

10,000 spectators meet each year at the “RENCONTRES DE LA CINEMATHEQUE DE MONTAGNE », an event during which documentary films are shown highlighting a common passion, the mountains! This event takes place at the Quattro, a magnificent hall with 1,100 seats, equipped with a 12-meter screen. It represents the ideal place to experience the exploits of the adventurers of the peaks. This festival allows the public to meet the actors and directors of the films in a friendly and warm atmosphere. The presentation of two prizes, "The Mountain Cinematheque Prize" and the "Jury's Favorite", concludes these meetings by rewarding the two best films shown.
