Since its establishment in 1987, the Sondrio Festival has promoted awareness and interest in nature and the importance of its preservation through the powerful medium of documentary filmmaking. Each year, outstanding nature documentaries—set in stunning national parks, nature reserves, and protected areas around the world—are carefully selected by our Scientific Committee and presented to the public at the Teatro Sociale Theatre and via streaming on our website.
In addition to the film screenings, the festival organizes a variety of side events, including exhibitions, workshops, meetings with filmmakers and special guests for the general audience. Educational activities are also offered for primary, secondary, and high school students, with more than 12,000 students participating in these projects every year.
Thanks to the support of both private and public sponsors, all festival activities are offered free of charge.
Film screenings, meetings, shows, seminars and exhibitions for the whole duration of the Festival.
